LGBT Chat (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
If you sign up using a third-party service (such as Apple or Google), we may receive information from that service, such as your name and email address, as permitted by that service’s privacy settings.
LGBT Chat is a community for LGBTQ+ people, so some of the information on the Service is sensitive. You can choose to add pronouns, pride-flag identities, and a custom identity label to your profile. All of these are optional, and you can change or remove them at any time.

We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Your username, profile photo, and content you post are visible to other users in your city chatroom. Your precise location is never shared with other users.
We use third-party vendors to operate the Service, including Firebase for authentication, Convex for application data and storage, RevenueCat and the applicable app store for purchase and subscription management, Expo and platform push services for notifications, OpenAI, Google Gemini and Z.ai for automated safety moderation of messages and images, and GIPHY for GIF search. The app does not currently show ads; if ads are enabled in a future version, Google AdMob would provide advertising. These providers process only the information needed to perform their services under their own terms and privacy commitments.
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; protect the rights, property, or safety of LGBT Chat, our users, or the public; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We may share information with third parties when you give us consent to do so.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We may also retain and use information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Messages remain available until you delete them, a moderator removes them under our policies, or you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile and associated personal information from our active systems, subject to limited retention required for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can update, correct, or delete your account information at any time through the app settings. See our account deletion page for the in-app steps and support route.
You can control location permissions through your device settings. You can select a city manually without sharing device GPS, and disabling location services may limit automatic city suggestions.
You can opt out of receiving push notifications through your device settings.
LGBT Chat does not currently show ads. If ads are enabled in a future version of the app, Google AdMob would process your device's advertising identifier, approximate location, and information about how you interact with ads to deliver, measure, and personalize them. In that case, on iOS we would ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before your advertising identifier is used for personalized ads, and if you declined you could still see non-personalized ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we would ask for your consent through Google's consent tool before showing personalized ads.
You can change these choices at any time: on iOS in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and on Android in Settings → Google → Ads, where you can delete your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, as well as data portability.

If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
